In 2019, the Arizona medical cannabis market accrued $705 million in profit, putting the state in the top 10 for legal cannabis sales, according to Arcview Market Research and BDS Analytics. Ranked eighth place overall, Arizona’s numbers are impressive since it is one of only four medical cannabis states to make the list.

Since the establishment of Arizona’s program in 2010, exponential growth has occurred, and more is on the horizon with a potential ballot initiative in 2020 to legalize recreational cannabis. The rapid development of the industry, coupled with the federal illegality of cannabis, has led to cannabis business litigation, especially in regard to trademark infringement.
